A leading real estate investment trust and owner of one of the most distinctive
portfolios in the lodging industry. With a focus on luxury and upper-upscale
properties, the company had approximately $6.0 billion in total assets with 61
hotels and resorts across North America that operate under premium brands such
as The Waldorf=Astoria Collection, The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Marriott,
Hilton, and Hyatt. CNL Hotels & Resorts was acquired in April 2007 by a fund managed by Morgan Stanley Real
Estate and Ashford Hospitality Trust in a transaction valued at $6.6 billion.
CNL Retirement Properties, Inc.
A real estate investment trust with investments primarily in independent living,
assisted living and continuing care retirement communities, medical office buildings
and other medical real estate. CNL Retirement Properties was acquired in October
2006 by Health Care Property Investors, Inc. in a transaction valued at $5.3 billion.
Commercial Net Lease Realty, Inc.
Now known as National Retail Properties, Inc., an equity real estate investment
trust (REIT), traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol NNN,
that owns, builds and manages single-tenant, net-leased properties nationwide.
CNL Restaurant Properties, Inc.
Merged with U.S. Restaurant Properties, Inc. and 18 CNL Income Funds in 2005; formed
Trustreet Properties, Inc. and listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: TSY);
Trustreet was acquired by GE Capital Solutions in February 2007 in a transaction
valued at approximately $3 billion.
